Web Resume
Tim Stam
Technical Instructional Designer building onboarding systems, technical enablement programs, performance support, and practical tooling that help people get productive faster in complex environments.
This page is designed to complement the formal resume with a faster web view of my focus areas, experience, and measurable impact.
Overview
I focus on technical enablement, engineering onboarding, enterprise learning systems, and knowledge operations. My work is usually strongest where the environment is complex, the baseline is weak or missing, and teams need a clearer path from information to real performance.
Across support, operations, and technical domains, I have built structured onboarding programs, launch-readiness training, facilitator support materials, documentation systems, simulations, and workflow tools that reduce friction and improve readiness.
Selected impact
Rebuilt and owned the onboarding system for Proofpoint enterprise support engineers.
Aligned learning to live support performance using ticket analytics and targeted onboarding timelines.
Replaced a 13-year legacy training approach for a healthcare customer service team.
Built adaptive Storyline leadership training for Amazon mechatronics deployments.
Built AutoHotKey and Python tooling to reduce manual formatting and content lookup time.
Designed scalable learning systems for support, operations, and technical audiences.
Experience snapshot
Amazon — Content Developer
Authored and edited SOP content in Oxygen XML (DITA), managed requests through Adobe Workfront, improved content governance, and built automation that reduced manual formatting and content lookup time while supporting multilingual global operations.
Bausch + Lomb — Learning & Development Consultant
Designed and implemented a structured 10-week onboarding curriculum for a specialized Customer Service team, replacing a legacy program with sequenced learning, facilitator support, coaching checkpoints, and scenario-based practice.
Amazon — Learning Experience Designer
Built launch-readiness programs for custom mechatronics systems using schematics, prototypes, and manufacturer documentation, translating complex technical workflows into role-based enablement for technicians, engineers, leaders, and operations associates.
Sutherland / Proofpoint — Training Specialist
Rebuilt and owned end-to-end onboarding for enterprise support engineers, moving learners from internet and email fundamentals into SQL, databases, SSL/TLS, encryption, TCP/UDP, packet tracing, and log analysis.
What I tend to build
- From-scratch onboarding and enablement systems where no real baseline exists
- Scenario-based and hands-on learning for technical or operational work
- Facilitator guides, checklists, readiness checkpoints, and support materials that reduce delivery variance
- Documentation and knowledge structures that turn fragmented or tribal knowledge into something usable
- Small automation tools that reduce friction for content teams and technical workflows
